A school library is another essential constituent of a successful school. The school had a library room, though it was in a very poor condition with uneven rough rock walls and unbearably cold to stay and read in during the winter. In 2006 it was wonderfully renovated with plywood lining and insulation, with assistance from Mary Jane Mumford, California. Later Mrs Liesl Clark from USA showed her generosity to add more furniture and provide sufficient English books for the children. She came to the school with a group of friends and worked tirelessly through the cold winter to put the books in a catalogue system. She has also managed to send an annual grant to pay for the school librarian. She is a very enthusiastic supporter of the library and has helped schools in the region to improve their libraries.
Room to Read has also kindly provided many books to Khumjung School and many other schools in the Khumbu region.
